Peaceful Bend begins expansion project

            The Meramec River Wine Trail has announced that the expansion project at Peaceful Bend Vineyard is well underway. Peaceful Bend began a crowd-funding campaign at the beginning of the year to raise funds for a new patio, dance floor, stage, and increased production to begin marketing wholesale.

Elementary School collects 4,230 pairs of shoes

Through the partnership of so many helping hands, the Steelville Elementary School was able to exceed their goal of collecting 4,000 pairs of shoes, sending a remarkable total of 4,230 pairs of shoes overseas to families in need. In turn with the support of Funds2Orgs (a non-profit fundraiser organization) they were able to raise $2,500 for their school.

Community celebrates unveiling of Adam’s Music Garden

            The Steelville community gathered at Heartland Arts Gifts & Gallery on Saturday, May 11, to recognize the impact of one local man who was well-known for sharing the songs in his heart with all around him.

City council hears public works report

            Steelville’s Public Works Director Jason Evans shared a report on work being completed in the utility departments at the May 6 city council meeting. City workers have a number of projects underway and are preparing for the summer months as well.

Steelville will host STARCO’s Plein Air in June

            It’s nearly time for artists to descend upon the Steelville community to create beautiful paintings of the surrounding area. The 12th Annual Steelville Plein Air event will kick off on Monday, June 3 and continue throughout the week.
