City moves to fix drainage problems along 4th Street     Representatives from the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), the Steelville R-3 School District and Representative Jason Smith met with the Steelville City Council Monday night to discuss ways to reduce flooding along Highway 19 near the railroad tracks. After the discussion, the council gave approval for work to immediately begin to help the problem.

Worry about saving country     After every election we are given the statistics about the low voter turnout. The low turnout is blamed on everything from voter apathy to the weather to the misalignment of the planets. One thing we never hear it blamed on is all the campaign garbage we have to endure leading up to the election.
